Less Than One Week Away! T Minus 4 Days

I haven’t updated this In a couple weeks, so I thought I should explain what has been going on since the last time I made a post. Last week, I went to Los Angeles to meet a couple other Missionaries that are going to be joining me in Korea! It was really fun hanging out with them. I went up a couple days early to surprise one of them  and go see his farewell talk. He did such an awesome job. That night, we stayed over at his house for his farewell party, and I got to meet all of his family and friends. I learned so much from each person I talked to. It definitely put my mind more at ease about going on a mission. They were all so sweet and made me feel like I was part of their family. It felt nice.

The next day, I met up with both of them and we went to Koreatown. We first started by going to a Korean barbecue. We tried around seven or eight different things from the menu , Ranging from steak, to duck breast. They all had spectacular tastes to them.  After we finished eating, we went to the Korean mall. It consisted of four stories and inside, it had many different stores. To name a few places that we to, we went to a grocery store, K-pop store, bookstore, a mini market, and  chocolate bar. (Idk what to call it)  we stayed there for around an hour and a half. I’ll definitely have to go back after my mission. When we were finished with KoreaTown,We decided to hike up to Griffith Observatory. It was about a mile long, but all uphill. If I knew we were hiking, I wouldn’t have wore pants. What a fail on my part.  When we went up there all the way, the view was breathtaking. We could see all below us for miles and miles.  I was speechless. Living in Arizona, I haven’t really experienced huge cities. I could definitely see myself living in a huge city like Los Angeles. Like I said, I will definitely have to go back.

The next day was beautiful. We started our day by going to the LA temple. It was breathtaking. I had experienced going to the temple once already , But the second time was just as good as the first. It just felt right.  What was bothersome was I was feeling really sick, so for around half of it, I was trying to stop myself from throwing up. Think about how horrible that would be  am I right? Throwing up inside the temple. I have a weird feeling I would be sent to hell or something like that. Just kidding just kidding.  After the temple, we walked around for 15 minutes or so. The air was refreshing and cool, unlike the blistering heat of Arizona.  Plus it gave me time to breathe some fresh air so I wouldn’t be as sick. After that, we got in our car, and drove to Santa Monica.  We went to the pier and rode the Ferris wheel, and looked around. The best part about the beach would have to be the scooters laying around. They are electronics scooters that sync to your phone, and for each minute , It charges you more. The top speed I went was around 28 mph. Besides that, it went a steady 18 mph. It was so fun riding those around!  I have seen them in Arizona before, so I might have to do it again sometime.  The companies were Bird and Lime. If you ever have time, and fairly good balance, I highly recommend riding them around.

We ended the day by going to a burger joint. I forget what it was called, but I know the general area. I’ll have to go back as well one day. The whole five days were exhilarating and made me so much more excited to go serve the Lord. He has given us so much, and for me to serve two years of my life is nothing. I’m excited to see what happens, and how this will affect my future.  It all depends on what I do though. I make the choice of whether I enjoy or despise my mission. It could be the best experience, and I can learn so much, or I could hate my mission. It depends on me and my attitude about it.
